Distributed by Taot recordings Wasun’s latest EP Comrade Music is inspired by the 90’s Golden Era of East coast Hip Hop (1994-1996). An era where Nas, Big L, Mobb Deep, Wu-tang Clan, and other New York MC’s pioneered a new sound of hard-hitting beats and rhymes that is still relevant today. The EP thorough from beginning to end.Both video’s for the EP was produced by Fred E Fame. Boom Bap Era features Boy-B’s from Supernaturalz Crew, a Cameo by Righteous and DJ DTS. The second video was Central Committee Report.
In 2005, Wasun released his What Must Be Done EP, and his single “Building to Building” received much critical acclaim in Toronto’s independent Hip Hop scene. Wasun performed the underground hit at numerous Fred E Fame 5th Element Events in 2006. This album was followed up by a series of Mixtapes called the Underground Railroad and Wasun’s second album The Prison Notebooks in 2010. In 2016, Wasun returns with his third revolutionary hip hop album, Comrade Music, to re-invent the Boom Bap sound and bring it into the second decade of the 21st century.
Wasun also appeared on Righteous’s The Administrator of Truth & One Day releases. In 2018 Wasun appeared on the Time track on Sixman’s album The Last King. In 2020 Wasun also appeared Jordi LaForty Classically Trained Album on the Track Harris Babies
